He was born June 16, 1936, in Rushville, a son of Roy Glen and Florence Ruth Dean Busby. He married Mary Jane Irwin on Dec. 31, 1958, in Rushville. She preceded him in death on April 8, 2018.
Surviving are one son, Scott (and Jennifer) Busby; one brother, Ron (and Judy) Busby; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Rushville High School and was a 4-H member where he showed Shorthorn calves, winning several blue ribbon trophies. He preserved a 1941 Super M tractor and a 1944 H International tractor and loaned them for many trips through the Smiles Day Parades. After 48 years of country living on the farm known as the Fannie Moore Sloan place in the Moore’s Chapel neighborhood, he and his wife built their home on an original plat lot that had been the childhood home for Mary Jane. He later retired as a farmer.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Reverend Stacy Tomich officiating. Burial was held in Rushville City Cemetery.
