She was born March 15, 1936, in Waterford Township, a daughter of Henry and Francis Ames Bennett. She married Robert Burgett in Havana. He preceded her in death in 1994.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Ray; four stepchildren, Cathy St. Clair, Mellissa Gorforth, Robert A. Burgett and Randy Burgett; and four siblings, Russell Bennett, Roy Bennett, Ralph Bennett and Bonnie Hadsall.
Surviving are two children, Robert (and Teri) Burgett of Cuba and Becky (and Terry) Black of Liverpool; six stepchildren, June (and Bill) Cohee and Paula Gilpin, both of Bath, Chrissy (and Dave) Sayers of Bader, Robin Cassel of Fort Campbell, Tenn., and Amy (and Buddy) Dobson and Jim (and A.J.) Burgett, both of Havana; one sister, Ruby Karminzind of Bartonville; 11 grandchildren; several step grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
She worked throughout her life as an LPN in the area nursing home because of her love for the elderly. She retired from Prairieview Nursing Home in Lewistown after many years of service. She was a devoted member of Waterford Union Church.
Cremation rites have been accorded through Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at Waterford Union Church. Inurnment will follow at the Waterford Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior at the church.
