Rusty BarrRustine “Rusty” Dee Barr, 75, of Alabama died July 25, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born May 18, 1946, in Illinois, a son of Sterling “Tex” Barr and Marcelle Barr.

Surviving are one son, Rustine (and Erin) Barr of Thiebes; Kathy Colson who he made his home with in Illinois and Alabama; one brother, Dennis (and Margaret) Barr of Lewistown; two sisters, Toni (and Ronnie) Lutrick of Nashville, Tenn., and Angela (and Larry) Beard of Townley, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Sterling Maxx Barr; and one sister, Linda Diane Barr.

He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the Navy. He was a member of the VFW.

He owned and operated Rusty’s Autobody for over 35 years in Havana. He was involved in the community.

He was in a band “The County Lineman” and played all over in Illinois in festivals, fairs and on the square in Lewistown. He built the Red Roof Music Barn in Lewistown.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at High Bridge Cemetery in Dunfermline with a Celebration of Life at 1 p.m. at the Lewistown VFW.
