Rosalie BarrettRosalie A. Barrett, 82, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Astoria, died at 1:43 p.m. Feb. 17, 2021, in St. Petersburg.

She was born Oct. 6, 1938, in Watseka, the daughter of Ferris and Verna Mae Dickinson Wilson. She married Paul E. Barrett on Oct. 7, 1956, in Chandlerville. He preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 2012.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Michael Barrett; and one brother, Richard Wilson.

Surviving are one son, Patrick Barrett of St. Petersburg; one daughter, Paula (and Mark) Pigg of Ipava; one brother, Rick (and Donna) Wilson of Clearwater, Fla.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was owner and operator of her clothing store, “My Place” in Astoria for many years. She was well known for her sidewalk café every summer. After selling her business, she worked at Astoria Gardens and Rehab Center.

She was very involved in the Astoria community. She served as president of the Spoon River Drive and was the area representative for Astoria for several years. She also was a member of the Astoria Merchant’s Association.

She was a member of Astoria United Methodist Church.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with David Little officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at Astoria Cemetery.
