Kimberly Barnes

Kimberly Joy Barnes, 60, of Canton died March 17, 2019, at Graham Hospital.

She was born Oct. 2, 1958, a daughter of Carolyn K. Stevens and Gale (and Gloria) Schisler in Galesburg. They survive.

Also surviving are one son, Corey Barnes of Peoria; one daughter-in-law, Mandy Davis of Canton; Laura Ramage of Galesburg, whom she loved like a daughter; one brother, Kurt Schisler of Canton; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, PFC Aaron Barnes; and one sister, Jill Sherwood.

She graduated from Spoon River Valley High School in 1976. She owned and operated the Fairview Café for 20 years and held various jobs prior to that time.

She was a Gold Star Mother and an Honorary Member of the Fairview American Legion Auxiliary for her volunteer services. She participated in the Rolling Thunder Ride to Washington D.C. and also attended the Native American Veteran’s POW WOW every year she was able.

Per Kim’s wishes, no services were held.

Memorials may be made to the Fairview Fire Protection District or the Spoon River Valley Educational Foundation.
