Cline BrillhartCline L. Brillhart, 84, of Springfield died Nov. 19, 2017, at his home.

He was born Aug. 2, 1933, in McDonough County, a son of George and Maye Winston Brillhart. He married Carol Price on Oct. 8, 1960, in Vermont. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Tim Brillhart and Mark Brillhart, both of Springfield, and Jeff (and Connie) Brillhart of Savoy; one daughter, Kelly (and Marty Ryan) Brillhart of Fishers, Ind.; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, John; two brothers, Charles and Harold; and one nephew, Danny.

He attended a one-room school through eighth grade and graduated from Industry High School in 1951.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, and was stationed in Germany from 1953-55. When he returned home, he attended Western Illinois University, graduating in 1958. He retired in 1998 after 35 years of service with Teachers Retirement System. He performed with the Menard County Singers in his later years.

A funeral service was held Saturday at Bisch Funeral Home West in Springfield. Burial was private at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
