She was born April 12, 1931, in Adair, a daughter of Elzie and Bessie Gardner Danner. She married Lester E. Burgard on Aug. 27, 1949, in Astoria. He preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 2017.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Ronald Danner; and one sister, Elizabeth Basinger.
Surviving are three sons, Jerry Burgard and Rev. Rick (and Cathy) Burgard, both of Havana and Lyle (and Pamela) Burgard of Browning; two daughters, Sheila (and Gary) Sloter of Astoria and Loretta (and Rev. Bob) Mansfield of Warsaw, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was a pastor’s wife for over 68 years.
She was a member of Havana Church of the Nazarene.
Services were held Saturday at her church with Pastor Rick Burgard and Pastor Bob Mansfield officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery in Astoria. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
