He was born Oct. 5, 1924, in Fulton County, a son of Ross Robert and Rilla Belle Miller Brown. He married Wanda M. Hickman on Dec. 12, 1965, in Rushville. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Ronnie (and Diane) Brown of Havana; three daughters, Virginia Green of Belville, Sherry Boggs of Havana and Paulet (and Les) Zedric of Monmouth; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Tony Billingsley; three brothers; and three sisters.
He was a member of Galesburg Community of Christ Church.
He was a coal miner, carpenter, welder and machinist.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Stephen Bounds, Elder Bonnie King and Elder Darrell King officiating. Burial was in Palm Cemetery.
