Ross R. Brown Dies At Home In Astoria

Ross Robert Brown of Astoria, died at his residence Saturday at 10:30 p.m., following an illness of eight months.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Vermont Methodist church. The Rev. Jonathan Drake officiated, and burial was in Vermont cemetery.

Mr. Brown was born near Astoria Dec. 19, 1884, to Swepson and Sarah Ann Frazier Brown, and was married to Rilla Miller near Vermont in December, 1907. He was a retired farmer.

Surviving are the widow, seven sons and daughters, Dean Brown of San Bernardino, Calif., Merlin Brown of Rockford, Darrel Brown of Rock Island, Randall Brown of Astoria, Mrs. Gwendolyn Fugate of Plymouth, Mrs. Maxine Steohr of Beardstown and Miss Lillian Brown at home; one sister, Mrs. Lutie Parr of Roseau, Minn.; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
