Eldon J. Baker, 82, of Ipava died at 7:42 a.m. Nov. 1, 2015, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born Feb. 10, 1933, in Buckheart Township, Fulton County, the son of Damon and Opal Brown Baker. He married Barbara Klinedinst on June 7, 1953, in Lewistown. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Diana (and Craig) Horwedel of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Connie (and Gene) Lockard of Ipava; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He farmed for over 50 years.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was a member of Grace Bible Church of Astoria, Past President of the Fulton County Fair Board, Fulton County Soil and Water Conservation Board, Fulton County Farm Bureau, Pleasant Township Board for several years and the Pritchard Clark School Board. He was a former member and past president of the Astoria Lions Club.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Cody Stinnett officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown, with military rites provided by the Ipava American Legion. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
