Opal Baker

Opal BakerOpal V. Baker, 97, of Lewistown died at 1:12 p.m. Dec. 5, 2007, at Astoria Gardens & Rehab Center.

She was born July 12, 1910, in Canton, a daughter of John I. and Maggie Belle Wages Brown. She married Damon Baker on June 29, 1932, in Canton. He died April 3, 1974.

She also was preceded in death by one grandson, Todd Lockard; one brother, Estie Brown; and three sisters, Nellie Lingenfelter, Mabel Copple and Della Bain.

Surviving are one son, Eldon (and Barb) Baker of Ipava; one daughter, Connie (and Gene) Lockard of Ipava; special family friend, Bill (and Marilyn) McCracken of Fairview; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Maples Mill United Methodist Church and Fulton County HEA.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Ken Peterson officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.

Memorials may be made to her church or the Community Hospice of America.
