GERALD DUANE “JERRY” BURLINGAME

Gerald D. Burlingame, 80, of Ipava died at 8:46 p.m. Sept. 6, 2015, at Mason District Hospital ER in Havana.

He was born Feb. 16, 1935, in Pekin, a son of Ubert and Florence Burlingame. He married Goldie Aper on July 11, 1952, in Keokuk, Iowa. She survives.

Also surviving are five daughters, Susan Behrends of Tremont, Karen (and Jeff) Abernathy of Lewistown, Lois (and Bill) Farquhar of Blandinsville, Emily (and Larry) Mustread of Bowling Green, Ky., and Carol (and Jeff) Hillyer of Table Grove; one son, Charles Burlingame of Ipava; three brothers, Ronnie (and Carol) Burlingame and Mark (and Nancy) Burlingame, both of Pekin, and Jimmy (and Betsy) Burlingame of Troy, Mich.; two sisters, Sharon (and Jayson) Becker of Pekin and Brenda (and Tom) Mills of Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Duane Burlingame; and one brother, Michael Burlingame.

He worked at Standard Brands for 16 and one half years, and farmed for most of his life.

He was a member of the NRA and County Farm Bureau.

Services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, with Kevin Blythe officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to services on Wednesday. Cremation Rites will be accorded after the service.
