Frances J. Byers, 88, of Lewistown died at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 19, 2011, at The Christian Village in Lincoln.
She was born Jan. 19, 1923, in Beardstown, a daughter of Orville and Emma Beard Surratt. She married Avon "Jim" Byers on Sept. 2, 1939, in Palmyra, Mo. He preceded her in death on April 1, 2007.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Spratt; one brother; and two sisters.
Surviving are one son, Avon L. "Bud" (and Dee) Byers of Clinton; two daughters, Faye (and Robert) Huncke of Lincoln and Crystal Byers of Chillicothe; one brother, William (and Midge) Surratt of Pekin; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was a long time member of Cuba Assembly of God Church and attended Faith Assembly of God Church in Lincoln.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Cuba Assembly of God Church with Reverend Andy Fyffe officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.
