Wayne Arnold Barnes, 71, of Greenview, Ohio, died Oct. 21, 2011, at his home.
He was born Jan. 21, 1940, in Fulton County near Astoria, the son of Bennie and Mary Johnson Barnes.
Surviving are one daughter, Michelle L. Barnes (and special friend Todd Sadler); two sisters, Marilyn (and David) Flora and Ruth (and Leon) Rogers; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one son, Matthew.
Growing up, they lived in the Palestine Ohio District arriving in December, 1950.
He graduated from Westmont High School. He then went to Miami Jacobs Business College majoring in accounting and graduated with high honors.
Early on, he farmed with his father and then worked in town taking early retirement as his health failed.
On Sept. 18, 1960, he was baptized into Old German Baptist Brethren Church where he was a member.
Services were held at Zechar Funeral Home in Greenville, Ohio, with Elder Isaac Bower officiating. Burial was in Miller Cemetery.
