Herbert Beadles"H.T." Herbert T. Beadles, 91, of Lewistown died at 5:20 a.m. July 20, 2011, at Graham Hospital Extended Care in Canton.

He was born Oct. 8, 1919, in Lewistown Township, a son of Thomas and Addie Jones Beadles. He married Irene M. Kruzan on Nov. 2, 1940, in Keokuk, Iowa. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Gale (and Donna) Beadles of Lewistown; one daughter, Connie (and the late Dick) Lannery of Lewistown; one sister, Vivian Hughes of Canton; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.

He graduated from Lewistown High School in 1937 and placed second in his division at the State Wrestling Finals.

He served in World War II from 1944-45 and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He received the Purple Heart Medal.

He was a farmer and a cement finisher.

He was a life member, past commander and charter member of Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and a member of Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1.

Services were held Saturday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Reverend Andy Fyffe officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with military services conducted by Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1.
