Alma BairAlma E. Bair, 83, of Canton died at 5:38 a.m. July 23, 2011, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

She was born Aug. 19, 1927, in Wolfe County, Ky., a daughter of James M. and Candis A. Bowman Lawson. She married Charles W. "Bill" Bair on Feb. 14, 1948, in Vermont. He preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 2006.

Surviving are three children, Nancy (and Robert) McNally and Linda (and Alan) Dilts, both of Canton and Charles (and Rita) Bair of Downers Grove; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 11 siblings.

She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Canton for over 50 years, where she served as a Deacon and an Elder. She helped with Bible school activities, youth group, church softball league and teaching Sunday school.

She was a former 4-H Leader and den mother for the Cub Scouts.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church in Canton with Dr. Rev. Ken Churchill and Pastor Penny Frame officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
