Charles W. "Bill" Bair, 82, of Canton died at 3:44 p.m. Sept. 28, 2006, at Graham Hospital Emergency Room.

He was born March 4, 1924, in Canton, a son of Lawrence and Irma Schnur Bair. He married Alma E. Lawson on Feb 14, 1948, in Vermont. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Nancy (and Robert) McNally and Linda L. (and Alan) Dilts, both of Canton; one son, Charles (and Rita) of Downers Grove; one brother, Walter "Bud" (and Betty) of Canton; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond; and one sister, Helen Johnson.

He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Canton.

He was an operator at Keystone Steel and Wire for 33 years, retiring in 1986.

Services were held Tuesday at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. Robert Holler officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
