Donald BrowningDonald Lee Browning, 85, of Plainwell Pines, Mich., formerly of Rushville died April, 19, 2010, at Plainwell Pines Nursing Facility.

He was born July 11, 1924, in Rushville, a son of James Homer and Berniece Euyler Browning.

Surviving are one brother, John J. (and Marjorie) Browning of Rushville; and several cousins, nephews and nieces.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He was a 1942 graduate of Rushville High School.

He attended Western Illinois University in Macomb and graduated from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Mich.

He worked primarily in foreign countries including Firestone Tire and Rubber Corp. in Liberia, West Africa and was a U.S. contractor in Vietnam, Turkey and other foreign countries.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Dixie Croxton officiating. Inurnment will follow in Rushville City Cemetery with military services being conducted by the U.S. Navy and Schuyler American Legion Post #4. Visitation will be held from noon until 1 p.m. Thursday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville.
