Harry R. Bryant, 67, of Matteson died July 2, 2009, at St. James Medical Center in Olympia Fields.
He was born April 24, 1942, in Quincy, the son of Harry E. Bryant and Grace Ostrander Bryant Halfpap. He married Kathryn Heindi in January 1967, in Bloomington. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Ripley (and Julie) Bryant of Salem, Ore., and Justin Bryant of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, June (and William) Lahrman of Quincy and Jean Martin of Astoria; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He joined the Marine Corps and later graduated from Illinois State University.
He graduated from Quincy Senior High School in 1960.
A memorial service is planned for a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no visitation.
