MARY ANABEL (HEISLER) BAVERY

Mary Bavery

Mary Anabel Heisler Bavery, 80, of Lewistown died at 3:45 a.m. April 16, 2007, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

She was born Oct. 7, 1926, in West Point, a daughter of George and Jeanette Boeddecker Heisler. She married Eugene Bavery on Oct. 16, 1947, in West Point. He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Susan (and Steven) Hardin of Jacksonville and Mary Jo (and David) Kumer of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; two sons, Charles of Jacksonville and Jeffrey of Lewistown; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Eugene; one daughter, Theresa Elaine Bavery; three brothers; and five sisters.

She graduated from Carthage High School Class of 1944. She worked at Carthage CIPS and the Shaffer Pen Co. in Ft. Madison, Iowa. She was co-owner of Bavery’s Restaurant in Lewistown for 37 1/2 years.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lewistown, the Altar and Rosary Society, Lewistown American Legion Auxiliary Post #1 and the 40 et 8 Salon.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at her church in Lewistown with Monsignor Robert O’Connor officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with a rosary service at 5:30 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Carthage at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lewistown Carnegie Library.
