Vera Ruthana Bent, 78, of Astoria, formerly of Browning, died at 1:30 a.m. Dec. 14, 2006, at Astoria Gardens & Rehab Center.
She was born April 11, 1928, in Industry, a daughter of Roy and Margaret Heaton Royer. She married Chester Otis Bent on Aug. 8, 1943, in Palmyra, Mo. He died April 10, 1988.
Also preceding her in death were one brother, Karl Royer; and one grandson.
Surviving are one daughter, Nancy Herrick of Canton; four sons, Gary (and Cheryl) of Petersburg, Larry (and Donna) of Ipava, Jerry of Rushville and Dick (and Sandy) of Browning; one brother, Keith (and Rosie) Royer of Carlinville; one sister, Mary Watkins of Macomb; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She worked for NTN Bower in Macomb for 20 years.
She was a member of Bader Christian Church.
Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Mike Pennell officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
