Roger Briney

Roger Briney, 77, of Browning died at 1:21 a.m. Nov. 4, 2006, at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

He was born Jan. 13, 1929, in Browning, the son of Harold and Lois Shelly Briney. He married Mary Grzanich Collins on Aug. 11, 1989, in Mason County. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Robert (and Johnna) of Moberly, Mo.; one daughter, Barbara Abernathy of Oregon; one stepson, Andy (and Donna) Collins of Phoenix, Ariz.; one stepdaughter, Karen (and John) Anderson of Jacksonville, Fla.; four stepgrandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Bruce; and one sister, Rosalie Emmons.

He was a member of Rushville Lodge No. 9 AF & AM, Springfield Consistory, Ansar Shrine of Springfield and Belgium Hitch of Quincy. He farmed his entire life.

Services were held Tuesday at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana with Father James Fedosuk officiating.
