Philip BluePhilip N. Blue, 76, of Astoria died at 2:01 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, at Heartland Healthcare Center in Macomb.

He was born June 15, 1928, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, the son of Allen and Birdie Marie Lockard Blue. He married Helen E. Harah on Nov. 23, 1947, in Summum. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Rick (and Susan) of Peoria; three daughters, Rhonda (and Jim) Wilson of Springfield, Ohio, Anna (and Steve) Bailey of Washington and Debra (and J.I.) Williams of Havana; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Rodney; and two grandsons.

He had been a farmer and a coal miner for AMAX Coal Co.

He was a former president of the Astoria School Board and a former member of the Astoria Library Board.

He was a 50-year member of Vermont Masonic Lodge 116 AF&AM, where he served as past master Mason. He also was a 50-year member of ANSAR Shrine Temple of Springfield.

He was a former member of Astoria Christian Church.

Services were held Sunday at Summum Christian Church with Rev. Ken Peterson officiating. Burial was in Sixteen Cemetery near Astoria. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
