Vera M. Brown, 89, of Macomb died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, at The Elms.
She was born Dec. 23, 1914, in Fulton County, a daughter of Earl and Colla Smith Counselman. She married Ghlee Brown on Feb. 19, 1935, in Astoria. He died April 7, 1975.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Harriet Lester; one grandchild; and four sons.
Surviving are one son, Sherold of Bushnell; four daughters, Ketra Jackson of Macomb, Marcella Heaton of Adair, Alcinda Moore of Colchester and Zelpha Lester of Blandinsville; two brothers, Howard Counselman of Bradenton, Fla., and Phillip Counselman of Catze Springs, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be held today at 10:30 a.m. at Sargent-Worthington Funeral Home in Macomb. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb.
