Forrest E. "Gene" Bricker, 70, of Astoria died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center's Forest Park Pavilion in Peoria.

He was born Aug. 20, 1929, in Fulton County, a son of Fred and Mildred Horner Bricker.

Surviving are two brothers, Ronald of Havana and Eldon of Downs; and three sisters, Nelda Hay and Mary "Rosie" Heffren, both of Havana, and Delores Haynes of White Bear Lake, Minn.

Three brothers preceded him in death.

He was a Korean War Army veteran.

A member of United Auto Workers Local 1357 in Canton, he worked for International Harvester Co. in Canton for 29 1/2 years, retiring in 1984. He also had farmed in Fulton County.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana, where visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today. The Rev. Warren Hughes will officiate. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to any charity.
