Beulah I. Briney, 86, of Astoria died at 1:12 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 1999, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
She was born March 13, 1913, in Bader, a daughter of Henry William and Mary Ellen Stroops Stambaugh. She married Dean Ray Shaw on Feb. 22, 1932, in Rushville. He died on Dec. 14, 1940. She married Herschel Briney on Sept. 8, 1956, in Havana. He died on July 31, 1980.
Also preceding her in death were four brothers and five sisters.
Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Schuyler County Farm Bureau.
She graduated from Haas Beauty School in Beardstown in 1942. She owned and operated Beulah’s Beauty Shop in Astoria for 13 years.
Services were held Tuesday at Shawgo Memorial Home with Rev. Collis Trone officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
