Jack Bradford

Jack L. Bradford, 81, of Adair, died at 7:20 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 1997, at his residence.

He was born May 1, 1916, in Good Hope, the son of Lawrence and Mary Helms Bradford. He married Helen Spencer on Feb. 28, 1940, in Kahoka, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Gary Bradford of Sparland; one daughter, Mrs. Norman (Donna) Gibboney of Astoria; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren and one sister, Doris Winters of Macomb.

He was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Lynn Bradford, one grandson, Shane D. Bradford, and one sister, Helen Avery.

He was a member of Vermont Lodge 116 AF&AM, Adair Methodist Church, Adair Volunteer Fire Department and New Salem Township Board. He was a lifetime farmer in McDonough Co. He drove a school bus for Macomb Unit Schools for many years.

Services were held this morning at the Sargent-Worthington Funeral Home in Macomb with Rev. Tim Gilliland officiating. Masonic Rites by his lodge were held Tuesday evening. Burial was in Point Pleasant Cemetery.
