Roy Boehm

Roy C. Boehm, 86, of Venice, Fla., formerly of Rushville, died at 9:50 a.m. Monday, July 15, 1996, at the Bon Secours Nursing Care Center in Venice, Fla.

He was born May 19, 1910, in Rushville, a son of William G. and Sophia Thudium Boehm. He married Eunice B. Hester on July 17, 1932 in Rushville. She passed away on July 14, 1991. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, William A. Boehm and Edward Boehm; and one sister, Pauline McCormick.

He is survived by one son, William F. Boehm and wife Barbara of Venice, Fla.; two grandchildren, Dee Ann Boehm of Northville, Mich. and William Scott Boehm and wife Julie of Bartlett; one great-grandson, Erik William Boehm of Bartlett; one brother, Don Boehm of Rushville; three sisters, Alma Chipman of Jacksonville, Rose Dean of Rushville, Clarine Gillenwater of Tempe, Ariz.

He was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Rushville, Rushville Lodge #9 A.F.&A.M., Quincy Consistory A.A.S.R., Ansar Shrine of Springfield, Schuyler Co. Shrine Club, Schuyler 22 Club, and the Ill. Municipal Retirees Organizations. Boehm was co-owner and operator of Boehm & Sons Super Market in Rushville and later was elected Schuyler Co. Treasurer in 1974 serving two terms. He also elected to the Schuyler Co. Board in 1982 to one term.

Funeral services were held Friday at the Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Dr. Jack Volkers officiating. Burial was in the Rushville City Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Phoenix Opera House Restoration.
