Melvin L. “Doc” Brown of Phoenix, Ariz., died Thursday, March 16, 1995. He had been hospitalized since January.
He was born Dec. 8, 1912 in Vermont, a son of Darrah and Mae Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Grace of Phoenix; one son, Mel Brown Jr. of Lake Oswego, Ore.; one daughter, Eadie Shawgo of Cambridge; two stepdaughters, Judy Rhoades of Washington and Kay Surratt of Aurora; one half sister, Doris Dunblazier of Lewistown; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Virgil Brown; and one grandchild.
He was an auto mechanic all his life. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Phoenix.
Cremation rites were accorded.
Memorials may be made to the Woodland Church of the Brethren.
