Edwin Bottenberg Of Ipava Dies

Edwin Carithers Bottenberg, 74, of rural Ipava, died at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 1990, at his home.

He was born Oct. 17, 1915, in Table Grove, a son of Foster E. and Mary Louise Carithers Bottenberg. He married Doris Louise Smith on Feb. 17, 1941, in Table Grove. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, George E. of Eagle Creek, Ore., and Richard L. of Delavan; one daughter, Mrs. Nancy E. Tiezzi of Trivoli; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, William J. of Hollister, Mo.; and three sisters, Mrs. F. Louise Painter of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Genevieve E. Markevitch and Mrs. Iris M. Ryan, both of Peoria.

He was preceded in death by one sister.

He was a farmer and owned and operated the Table Grove slaughterhouse for 18 years.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Kost Memorial Home in Vermont with Rev. Tim Gilliland officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the memorial home. Burial will be in Vermont Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Ipava Rescue Squad and Fire Department.
