VeteranGlen Bollinger Dies At Age 91

Glen W. Bollinger, 91, former Astoria resident, died at 5:50 p.m. Monday, March 12, 1990, at the Good Samaritan Healthcare Center in East Peoria.

He was born Nov. 14, 1898, at Astoria, a son of John W. and Nora McKinley Bollinger. He was married to Helen Peek on Feb. 12, 1923 at Jacksonville. She preceded him in death on Jan. 12, 1985.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter, one sister and four brothers.

Survivors include two sons, Glen W. “Tuney” Bollinger of Seattle, Wash. and Jack D. Bollinger of East Peoria; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Etta Mae Deatherage of South Carolina.

He was a Navy veteran of World War I and a member of Astoria American Legion Post 25. He was a retired automobile salesman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday morning at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Collen Lassiter officiating. Burial will be in the Astoria Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Memorials may be made to the Mission Program of the First Assembly of God Church in Peoria.
