Mrs. Edith Baker Of Vermont Dies

Mrs. Edith F. Baker, 85, of Vermont, died at 5:50 a.m. Monday, Sept. 7, 1981, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born Jan. 13, 1896 in Astoria, a daughter of Eli and Martha (Miller) Krout. She married Galen Baker May 14, 1916 in Astoria. He died Aug. 1, 1962.

Survivors include four sons, Jack of Industry, Willis of Vermont, Norman of Littleton, Colo., and Loren of Good Hope; one daughter, Mrs. Dorla Adcock of Vermont; one brother, Donahue Krout of LaGuna Hills, Calif.; 25 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two infant daughters, one sister, and one brother.

She was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Astoria and the Salem Sewing Club, Astoria.

Funeral services are to be at 2:30 p.m. this afternoon at Kost Memorial Home with Collis Trone officiating. Burial will be in the Astoria Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the school for the blind.
