Mrs. Winnie B. Brown Dies in Iowa

IPAVA — Mrs. Winnie B. Brown was found dead Wednesday morning, Oct. 25 at her home in Charles City, Iowa. Death was due to heart trouble. She had been active previous to her death. Mrs. Brown was a resident of Ipava and after the death of her husband, Arthur Brown, who died several years ago, she sold her Ipava home and moved to Iowa to live near her daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Finch.

Mrs. Brown was born 69 years ago on a farm near Ipava. She was the daughter of Reece and Ella Connell David. She attended the Ipava schools and was married to Arthur Brown of Ipava. To this union was born two sons and two daughters. Surviving are her children, Dwight Brown of Lewistown, David Brown of Joliet; Mrs. Roger Holmes of Kentucky and Mrs. Dorothy Finch of Charles City, Iowa; several grandchildren, and her sister, Mrs. Diana Baumgartner of Ipava and several nieces and nephews.

There was a very large attendance at the funeral. Rev. O. D. Slater officiated; Mrs. C. O. Snedeker at the organ, and Wm. Sexton sang “Crossing the Bar.” Burial was in the Ipava cemetery.
