Death Claims Anna Benton

Mrs. Anna Benton died Saturday night at 8 o'clock at her home on East Broadway, following a heart attack.

Mrs. Benton was born February 16, 1874 in Doulphin County, Pa., a daughter of Joseph and Susan Aldinger Gruber. She was united in marriage to Charles Benton, Dec. 29, 1896, who preceded her in death August 21, 1943. To this union was born two daughters, Mrs. Orpha Rhoades and Mrs. Beulah Whittenberg of Astoria. She is also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Benton was one of a family of nine children, of which Levi Gruber of Ray is the only survivor.

She was a member of the Church of the Brethren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Astoria Church of the Brethren, conducted by Rev. G. G. Canfield and Rev. A. L. Whitmore. Burial in Woodland cemetery.
