He was born Sept. 15, 1956, in Decatur, a son of Donald Wayne Ashenfelter and Wilma Meyerholz Ashenfelter. He married Connie Koshinski on Sept. 19, 1993, in Decatur. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Michael Ashenfelter of Decatur and Nick (and Jen) Embree and Matt Embree, both of Cerro Gordo; two daughters, Mandy Ashenfelter and Lindsay McQueen; his parents, Wilma F. (and Carl) Cable of Cerro Gordo; two sisters, Jeanie (and Paul) Sager of Astoria and Rhonda (and Danny) Higgs of Gallatin, Tenn.; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father; and one brother, Dennis Cable.
He was a member of Church of the Brethren in Cerro Gordo. He worked at Firestone in Decatur for 27 and a half years.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Church of the Brethren in Cerro Gordo, casual attire is requested. Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home in Decatur is in charge of arrangements.
