NYDA E. (BROWN) HAMBLIN ADCOCK

Nyda AdcockNyda E. Hamblin Adcock, 83, of Astoria died at 9:03 a.m. June 26, 2016, at her home.

She was born June 17, 1933, in Astoria, a daughter of Perry Taylor and Sibyl Mae Shaw Brown. She married Richard W. Hamblin on June 17, 1951, in Astoria. He preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 1994. She then married Irvin A. Adcock on Aug. 31, 1996, in Astoria. He preceded her in death on Sept. 17, 2008.

She also was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Madlyn Noelle (Maddie) Rhoades; one brother, Junior Shaw Brown; and one sister, Darlene Camp.

Surviving are one son, Stephen (and Donna) Hamblin of Astoria; two daughters, Lynette (and John) Smith and Jody (and Michael) Dean, both of Astoria; five grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

She worked throughout her life in the Astoria area, last working as manager of Hamblin’s Service.

She was a member of Astoria Christian Church, where she sang in the church choir and was a member of the Women’s Fellowship, the Sunshine Club of Astoria and served as Astoria Township Clerk for many years.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Astoria Christian Church with Jason Rennert officiating. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
