Carl AllgaierCarl Allgaier, 92, of Rushville died at 11:30 p.m. April 18, 2012, at Heartland Healthcare Center in Macomb.

He was born July 1, 1919, in Chicago, a son of Gottlieb and Christiana Weisgterauer Allgaier. He married Wanda Ritchey on Jan. 1, 1941, in Chicago. She passed away Feb. 13, 2010.

He also was preceded in death by one brother, August; and four sisters, Julia, Elizabeth, Alma and Alga.

Surviving are two sons, Dickie L. (and Traude) Allgaier Traude of Homosassa, Fla., and Ronald J. (and Nancy) Allgaier of Oakbrook Terrace; one daughter, Leona M. White of Fresno, Calif.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was a baptized member of the German Lutheran Faith.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He drove a truck for National Tea Company in Chicago and worked for Illinois Department of Transportation before retiring in 1992.

He was a member of International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

Services were held Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Mr. David Haney officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery with military honors by a U.S. Army Honor Detail and Schuyler American Legion Post #4.
