She was born Feb. 10, 1931, in Rushville, the daughter of John F. and Carrie M. Moore Peterman. She married Edwin E. Atwater on May 10, 1949, in Louisville, Ky. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1999.
She also was preceded in death by one son, Robert Atwater; and one brother, Kenneth Harold Davis.
Surviving are one daughter, Carolyn Hillyer of Rushville; one daughter-in-law, Norma Atwater of Rushville; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She worked at Kudahey’s, Mickleberry’s and Bartlow Brothers, all in Rushville and for Oscar-Mayer in Beardstown.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rushville.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Steve Pichaske officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery.
