James Arnett

James ArnettJames L. “Jim” Arnett, 54, of Lewistown died at 1:18 p.m. March 8, 2007, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born July 26, 1952, in Peoria, a son of Ralph F. and Mable Emery Arnett. He married Linda Fredrick Freeman on April 18, 1975, in Lewistown. She survives.

Surviving are one daughter, Cris (and Harold) Sheets of Lewistown; two sons, Eric Freeman of Cleburne, Texas, and Matthew Arnett of Peoria; one brother, Randy (and Cindy) of Lewistown; two sisters, Cheryl (and Tom) Wirebaugh of Little America and Lorrie (and Harold) Park of Jacksonville; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Todd Alan.

He was a graduate of Lewistown High School, Class of 1971. He owned Arnett’s Janitorial Service. He was employed by International Harvester until 1978, then worked at Caterpillar for 29 years.

He was a member of Demolay, Masonic Lodge, UAW #974, and Bryant Fire and Rescue Squad. He also was a Jaycees and rodeo clown.

Services were held Tuesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Pastor Greg Ogle officiating. Burial was in Baughman Cemetery in Smithfield.

Memorials may be made to Lewistown Masonic Lodge or Lewistown Rescue Squad.
