Robert P. Aten, 62, of Orange, Calif., formerly of Astoria, died at 5:15 p.m. Friday, June 26, 1998, at Tustin Medical Center in Tustin, Calif.
He was born Nov. 27, 1935, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a son of Merlin J. and Annetta Parker Aten.
Surviving are his mother, Annetta Fisher of Ipava; and three brothers, Rodney of Ipava, John of Beardstown and Richard of Highland.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He was an auto detailer in California since 1967. Prior to that, he was a postal employee for 10 years and worked for the Federal Aviation Administration for two years, both in Oklahoma.
Private graveside services were held in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Astoria with Tim Gilliland officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
