VeteranRaymond Azbell Dies At Age 58

Raymond Azbell, 58, of Albuquerque, N.M., where he resided 30 years, formerly of Ipava, died at 2 p.m. Sunday, Mar. 2, 1980, at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Albuquerque.

He was a retired accountant for the Public Service Co. of New Mexico and a World War II veteran.

He was a member of Elks Lodge 461 and the Presbyterian Church, Albuquerque.

Born Oct. 15, 1921, near Ipava, he was a son of Edward and Zena Nelson Azbell.

Surviving are three brothers, Donald of Ipava, Wayne of Table Grove and Kenneth of Greenfield; one sister, Irene Breitengross of Weslaco, Tex.; and a half-brother, Lyman Azbell of Sun City, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents and a half-brother.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ipava United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Gary Hardesty officiating. Burial was in Ipava cemetery.

Raymond Azbell Dies In New Mexico

Raymond Azbell, former Ipava resident, died Sunday, Mar. 2, 1980, in a hospital in Albuquerque, N. Mex., following a lengthy illness.

His parents were Ed and Zena Nelson Azbell who preceded him in death.

He was born near Ipava, attended the Elrod country school and graduated from Ipava High School.

Among the survivors are three brothers, Kenneth of Greenfield, Wayne and Donald of Ipava; one sister, Jessie Irene Breitengross of New Brainfels, Tex.; and one half-brother, Lyman, of California.

Funeral services are incomplete but burial is expected to be in Ipava.
