Mabel A. Allen Of La Harpe Dies

Mabel A. Allen, 91, of La Harpe died at 1:20 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 1980, at La Harpe Hospital.

She was born Jan. 2, 1889, in Kansas, the daughter of Joseph and Alice Connor Browning. She married William Wagoner on Aug. 29, 1906, at Havana. He died on Feb. 16, 1962. She then married Ira Allen on July 15, 1964.

She was a member of the La Harpe Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Wagner of Astoria, Mrs. Arthur (Merle) Lorton of Gladstone, and Mrs. Jack (Fern) Darrah of Blandinsville; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Cecil (Wanda) Covert of La Harpe; 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Harold, Willard and William Wagoner; one daughter, Hildred Wagoner; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Martin; and three brothers, Charles, Burton and Archie.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Banks and Beals in La Harpe with Howard Lay officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb.
