Mrs. Zimmerman Died Suddenly Funeral Monday

Mrs. Barton Zimmerman died very suddenly of apoplexy at her home near Summum at 6:30 Saturday morning October 25, at the age of 55 years and 9 days. She had been in failing health for the past ten years but her condition was not thought serious and her death came as a severe shock to relatives and friends.

Mrs. Zimmerman was well known and highly respected in the community where she had been a resident her entire life time. Much of her time was devoted to her home and flowers. Always thoughtful of her family and friends, she was loved by the entire community and will be greatly missed. While in failing health, she was always looking on the bright side and cheerful to the end.

Sadie Ora, daughter of John and Catherine Kingery, was born near Summum, Ill., October 16, 1875. She was united in marriage to Barton W. Zimmerman October 16, 1899. Two children blessed this union, Herbert of Sears, Michigan, and Mrs. Fern Trone of Summum.

She is survived by her husband and two children, one brother, Clayton Kingery and five grandchildren. Two brothers having preceded her in death during the past nine months.

The son, Herbert, had spent the last two weeks with his parents and departed for his home just one hour preceding his mother’s death. A message overtook him on the way and he returned.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon at the Summum Christian church, Rev. W. H. Day in charge. Burial in the Summum cemetery.
