Stephen T. Yaeger, 64, of Havana died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at his residence.

He was born April 23, 1939, in Stamford, Conn., a son of William A. and Alice Peterson Yaeger. He married Judy Pilger on Dec. 11, 1965, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, John of England, James of Canton and Steven of Athens; two brothers, William of Hopkinsville, Ky., and Robert of Pekin; two sisters, Patricia Cooper of Illinois and Teresa Cooper of California; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his stepmother, who also raised him; and one brother.

He was an Army veteran.

He was a produce manager at Oney's grocery store for the past 12 years.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Havana, where services were held Monday with Rev. Martin Liebmann Jr. officiating. Hurley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery, where military rites were accorded by American Legion Post 138.

Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross.
