Helen Young, 83, of Mendota, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1998, at Mendota Community Hospital.
She was born Aug. 23, 1914, in Table Grove, a daughter of Ralph O. and Iva Marie Lance Hammond. She married Victor Young on Dec. 31, 1932, in Havana. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Beverly Dunfrund and Shirley Finnigan, both of Mendota; one son, Errol Lynn Young of Mendota; one brother, Eugene Hammond of Table Grove; one sister, Lula Mae Baker of Industry; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Victor, one great-great-grandson and one brother.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mendota and a member of the United Methodist Women.
Services were held Thursday, Feb. 12, at her church with Rev. James Saltzman officiating. Burial was in Restland Memorial Gardens.
