MARY HARRIET (CLOVIS) YOST

Mother And Daughter Die

J. J. Clovis of this city received word Saturday evening of the death of his niece, Mrs. Ethel Neuneker of Bushnell who passed away at a Macomb hospital that evening, following an operation. Her mother, Mrs. Fred Yost, whose home is in Wisconsin, a sister, to Mr. Clovis, had been notified of her daughter’s illness and reached Bushnell Sunday evening. When told that her daughter had passed away, the shock was too great for her to bear and her death followed immediately. Mr. and Mrs. Clovis are in Bushnell where funerals were held at ten o’clock today, with interment in Bushnell cemetery.

A Bushnell dispatch contains the following regarding the sad incident: “The shock of seeing the body of her dead daughter, Mrs. Ernest L. Neuneker, born in Fulton county, resulted in the death of Mrs. Fred Yost age 39, when she viewed the remains in an undertaking establishment here Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Yost, a former Bushnell resident, was summoned from Crivitz, Wis., by her daughter’s illness but was not aware of Mrs. Neuneker’s death until a few minutes before she viewed the remains in the undertaking parlors. She had no sooner seen the body than she swooned and death resulted a few minutes later. Heart trouble was the verdict of the coroner’s jury. Mrs. Neuneker was only 18 years old and death was due to a Cesarean operation, resulting in the birth of twins.”
