William Yocum

LEWISTOWN — William Yocum passed away on Wednesday evening at 6:30 o’clock at the home of his sister, Mrs. Charles Peters, in the east part of the city. Death resulted from obstruction of the bowels. He was aged 53 years, nine months and 13 days. Mr. Yocum was a son of James and Lucinda Yocum and was born April 28, 1866, in Clay county, Indiana. The mother died 18 years ago last July and the father passed away on Feb. 17 of last year. He is survived by five brothers and two sisters. During his lifetime he had served this township two times as tax collector. The funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:30 from the Illinois Street Christian church, conducted by Rev. Robinson Ashly. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery.
