Shirley R. Weld, 90, of Macomb, formerly of Vermont, died at 10:04 a.m. Jan. 12, 2019, at Heartland Healthcare in Macomb.
She was born Sept. 7, 1928, in Aurora, the daughter of John and Blanche Toland Dean. She married Ethan Weld on March 29, 1947, in Baldwin, Kan. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2009.
She also was preceded in death by one brother, Marshall Dean.
Surviving are four daughters, Sherry Sorrells of Astoria, Candace (and Mark) Wenzell and Laurie (and Richard) Haskins, both of Macomb, and Ramona (and Tony) Tevis of Johnson City, Tenn.; two sons, John (and Debbie) Weld of Maryville, Tenn., and Mark (and Vicki) Weld of Amarillo, Texas; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Later in life, Shirley went back to school and graduated from Western Illinois University as a registered dietitian.
She was a member of the Chapter C PEO Sisterhood in Vermont for 50-plus years and was a past president of the chapter. She also was of the Methodist faith.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
