He was born Jan. 20, 1932, in Fairview, the son of Burton and Ruth Stout White. He married Karen Myers on Aug. 24, 1962. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Robyn (and Jim) Dutton and Reta (and Fred) Yazvec; one sister, Joyce Niemi; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Cluts.
He was an alumni of Western Illinois University and a member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. He is a 50-year member of Fairview Masonic Lodge and served for several years on VIT School Board. He also was a director of Mid Century Telephone Co-op. He was a member of Fairview Reformed Church.
He worked for Amax Coal for 33 years and was a member of The United Mine Workers of America. He retired in 1994.
Cremation has been accorded. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at a later date. Skyway Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Palmetto, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.
