Donald "Hop" WebsterDonald L. “Hop” Webster, 81, of Rushville died at 6:45 p.m. June 24, 2016, at Heritage Health, Therapy and Senior Care in Mount Sterling.

He was born Dec. 19, 1934, in Elvaston, a son of Kenneth and Vera Sharrow Webster. He married Yvonne “Kay” Akers on June 2, 1957, in Bowen. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Joni (and Warren) Witt of Tebbetts, Mo.; one son, Mitch Webster (and friend Erica Garcia) and her son Carlos of Beardstown; two brothers, Larry (and Glenadene) Webster of Bowen and Ed (and Mary) Webster of Macomb; two sisters, Roberta (and Roy) Larson of LeClaire, Iowa, and Kay Schild of Quincy; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one infant sister, Rita Webster; and one brother, Leon “Butch” Webster.

He was baptized in Bowen Methodist Church.

He retired after 26 years of managing Schuyler Livestock Sales in Rushville. He was active in the Schuyler County Fair Cattle Show. He was recognized as a Friend of the Livestock Industry in 2004 by the Schuyler-Brown Cattleman’s Association. He managed Little League teams in Golden for several years.

Services were held Tuesday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Reverend Keela Neumann officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowen Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice or the Special Care Unit of Heritage Health, Therapy and Senior Care in Mount Sterling.
